Invitation to Tender for Arts Ability Services • InBy: Nov 26th ’12

Wexford County Council invites tenders from suitable, qualified and experienced individuals and/or companies to deliver Arts Ability services. Arts Ability is an inclusive, participatory arts programme which celebrates the artistic and creative imagination of people who experience mental health problems and/or intellectual, physical or sensory disabilities.

Requirements:

  •   A developed knowledge and understanding of the aesthetic, artistic, creative, access and health related issues within Arts & Disability and Arts & Health practice.
  •   An innovative perspective on Arts & Disability and Arts & Health practice.
  •   At least three years experience in the facilitation and delivery of professional Arts & Disability and/or Arts & Health practice.
  •   At least three years experience of arts related project management e.g. managing, co-ordinating and delivering an arts service, sourcing additional funding, developing partnerships, promotion, reporting, monitoring and evaluation.
  •   A passion for and commitment to participatory / inclusive arts, and the ability to share this with others.
  • Only artists with a proven track record of the above will be considered.

Tenders to include:

  •   A Statement of Interest, including a summary of your Arts & Disability and Arts & Health ethos.
  • This should detail your interpretation of and approaches to the delivery of Arts & Disability and Arts & Health Services
  •   Proposed Annual Programme, including Timetable
  •   A detailed Budget Breakdown
  •   An up to date CV, highlighting relevant experience
  •   Examples of work within an Arts & Disability and/or Arts & Health context.
  •   Copy of up to date Tax Clearance Certificate
  •   Public Liability Insurance [Indemnity Limit of €6.4 million]
  •   Approach to Child Protection Legislation

The deadline for receipt of tenders is 4pm, Monday, November 26th, 2012, COMPLETED TENDERS ARE TO BE RETURNED TO THE COUNTY SECRETARY’S OFFICE, WEXFORD COUNTY COUNCIL, CARRICKLAWN, WEXFORD, WITH ENVELOPE CLEARLY MARKED TENDER FOR ARTS ABILITY SERVICE DELIVERY.

 The successful tenderer will be awarded a Contract for Services by Wexford County Council subject to security of funding, ongoing review and satisfactory performance and will be required to furnish the Local Authority with a current Tax Clearance Certificate. As tenders may be shortlisted on the basis of information supplied, please ensure that information given is sufficiently comprehensive. Details of all relevant information relating to experience, qualifications, response to the brief etc. must be supplied. Failure to include this information may result in tenders not being shortlisted. Please supply FIVE COPIES of your completed tender. Incomplete, late, faxed or emailed tenders will not be accepted.

TRAINING WORKSHOPS FOR THE LGBT COMMUNITY IN THE SOUTH EAST. AUTUMN 2012 (AMENDED)

Workshop Description Date, Time & Venue
Developing a Business Plan / Action Plan for Community Groups What makes a group strong is having a clear vision of where it is going, and how it is going to get there. This training aims to help groups develop a 3 year Action Plan that includes a section on how projects will be funded. Participants on the course will be offered further mentor hours from the instructors as they work towards developing their 3 year Business Plan.

This training and consultation aims to help you:

·      Identify the mission, goal and structure of your group

·      Identify the needs of the group and the community being served

  ·      Identify specific training and support needs

·       Identify funding opportunities (including exploring need for charitable status, if any)

·       Implement strong management skills (managing the group, its structures and processes; managing volunteers; managing drop-ins and events)

·       Develop a Business/Action Plan for your group.

This workshop will explore how effective
and respectful team work and communications, within and outside community groups, can help build capacity within the group.

This training aims to
provide you with the ability to:

·      Understand what it means to be a community group and how groups work best.

·       Exercise good communication skills, including verbal and listening skills, use of language, presentation, and so on.

·      Reflect on and understand the importanceof personal versus professional responsibility/interaction within the group.

·      Develop effective and respectful team work and communications, within and outside the group

·      Effectively manage conflict or disputes within the group

Developing
and Communicating A Message

The message groups project to the
community, and to the mainstream, is an important part of how they see themselves.
This workshop will assist your group in developing a strong and clear message
and a plan for how to communicate it. 

This training aims to provide you with the ability to:

·      Identify the Mission, goal and structure of your group

·      Develop a clear message for the group, and adapt that message to suit LGBT and mainstream recipients.

·      Identify the range of communication methods available, and how to effectively use them.

·      Connect with and build relations with active members of the wider LGBT community (including groups/communities in other counties) and mainstream organisations

·      Develop effective media sources in your area, including radio, newspapers, Facebook and other social media
