Trans* Education & Advocacy Community Forums     Thanks to support and funding from the Equality Authority, TEA will carry out a national consultation with the trans* community through 12 Trans* Community Forums in large towns and cities around the country.  Friday 9 November 2012  6-9.30pm Mount Sion, Edmund Rice Centre Barrack Street, Waterford    For further details, please contact:  Cat 01 442 0723 or 087 766 1770  cat@transgender.ie   All friends, allies, service providers, and members of the trans* community, including trans* and gender-questioning people, partners, spouses, significant others, and family members are welcome to attend and participate in the Forum.  This broad consultation is intended to reveal the current issues within trans* communities in different parts of the country and seeks to draw out actions that are necessary both locally and nationally to bring about positive change. In addition, the consultation process will provide opportunities for networking, engagement, empowerment, community activism, and leadership development.  The information and inputs from each forum will be collated and used to inform future trans* advocacy work by TEA and other groups and organisations. Forums will also take place in Athlone, Carlow, Castlebar, Cavan, Cork, Dublin, Dundalk, Galway, Limerick, Sligo, and Tralee during October and November 2012.  Forums are free with sandwiches/refreshments provided. Changing facilities are also available.  TEA would like to thank the Equality Authority for its help in supporting the active participation, engagement and empowerment of trans* people across Ireland.
